All the dumb, half the smart.

Sorry there hasn’t been a post in a while, I’ve been busy. I’ve spent most of my free time this past week redoing Aasma’s site (skurt.com). If you go there to look at it and you think that nothing has changed, then good. That was the point. I was just upgrading her blogging software to a newer version. The problem was that in order to upgrade her software and make use of the new features, a lot of changes had to be made to her pages. I figured it would just be easier to rewrite them all rather than trying to make all the little changes all over the place. The purpose was to take advantage of a feature that forces commenters to register and wait to be approved before their first comment shows up on the site. After they are approved, they can comment normally without any further approvals. This prevents spammers and annoying asshats from leaving comments. This is a really cool feature and I wish WordPress would hurry up and implement it. But oh well.
My mom has put a new face on her site too. Check it out.
All of this work with sites lately has made me like web design a little bit more. I started thinking about maybe looking into it more and then I realized I shouldn’t be designing sites. If I were to design a site for somebody, then they would end up with an ugly piece of crap like my site (I know it’s not pretty but I still like the way mine looks). So then I thought to myself, I’m only good at implementing a design, not actually making a design. Fine by me… if I wanted to be creative I would have gotten a degree in creation… or something.

I will be in your debt forever and I don’t think you’re not creative. Didn’t you design Sarah’s site? It’s really pretty. And I think your site is manly and to the point…or something. Also, my site just happens to Kick ass…even the designer’s other work is not as good as the work he did on my site.
Why thank you.. I do have quite a manly site.
Though I would like to take credit for Sarah’s site, I didn’t design it. I picked it out of a list of from a WordPress styles contest.
